So Lisa tagged me for this uncredited music quiz (of sorts), and who am I to resist that? It’s a bit delayed because of LIFE. (Sometimes I pretend like I have one!)
Which bands/artist do you own the most albums by?
I guess FM Belfast (3)? I don’t own CDs anymore, and the digitalness is messing with me. I’ve yet to find a way to get around having an android phone and an apple laptop that’ll allow me to listen to purchased music on both. I still try to buy the albums by small artists to support them, hence the 3 albums by these guys:
What was the last song you listened to?
I won’t lie, it’s this one (edit: the audio only I linked to has been taken off youtube, this is a clip from the movie it’s in) :
What’s in your CD player right now?
CD players are so passé! 😛
What was the last show you attended?
I guess that was the last show of 2016’s Iceland Airwaves? For me and L, that was Árstíðir.
What was the greatest show you’ve been to?
There are 3 shows I can recall being awed by: the (International) Noise Conspiracy and Le Tigre in Umeå (2005), and Kaizer’s Orchestra in Amsterdam. So I guess one of those!
What was the worst show you’ve ever been to?
Just like Lisa, I wasn’t overly impressed by 30STM. Jared just takes it too far for me. Either play and do it well, or you have to be a natural at the whole chatting to the audience thing. They did neither. Unfortunately for me, they played the Kill last, so I had to wait for that.
What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
I don’t understand this question. I’m not involved in any way, I just listen and talk about it.
What show are you looking forward to?
I currently only have 1 show “pending”, so I guess it’s that one? We’re going to see QOTSA in November (Amsterdam – Ziggo Dome). I really hope they’ll play lots of their older stuff.
What is your favorite band shirt?
Edit: apparently I just skipped this one. My answer is thus “pass!”.
What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
That’s gotta be house god Annika Norlin, surely?
Second hand choice: Josh Groban. Because of this (and yes, you should watch the whole thing):
Who is one musician or group you wish would make a comeback?
To be honest I usually don’t even notice when bands stop playing. I’m not that loyal. If I have to say something, I guess Kaizer’s Orchestra? (Which might be considered cheating, since they haven’t technically broken up, just gone on a hiatus…)
Who is one band/artist you’ve never seen live but always wanted to?
I’d really really like to see any of Annika Norlin’s projects, but she doesn’t play that often, and then rarely leaves Sweden.
Name four or more flawless albums.
There’s just no such thing. There are always 2-3 songs I don’t really like.
How many concerts have you been to in total?
No idea! More than 20, less than 100. Your guess is as good as mine.
Who have you seen the most live?
That’s gotta be the guys in Árstíðir (I think we’re closing in on 10 times?)
What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Is this a thing people keep track of? The only one I can think of is this:
What was your last musical ‘phase’ before you wisened up?
Meh, it’s all good. Someone (who?) said that growing up is a bit of looking at your past self and thinking you 5 years ago was a bit of an asshole. I pretty much agree, and apply that to music as well. Instead I’ll share this – a song from the first CD I ever owned (my dad bought it for me):
What is your ‘guilty pleasure’ that you hate to admit liking?
Aargh. I hate and am embarrassed that I love this song:
