week 30 / when it was just too warm

We ordered food 3 times last week, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Anyone who’s willing to spend time cooking when it’s 37 degrees (C) is not my kind of person. Was it healthy food? Nope. Was it delicious? Yep. Totally worth it.

Listened to this album while cooking on Saturday (yeeees, I did cook also):

Reading list
Yes people, I read books this week! Apparently the best way to get me out of a reading slump is to start with YA books. I read 4 in 3 days. Sure it helps that they were all less than 300 pages long, but it still totally counts. The list will be in the month summary coming on Wednesday, so if you really care, you can read there 😛

Someone pointed out that Anne Hathway (a.k.a. the adorable girl from Princess Diaries) is political on Instagram, so obviously I now follow her:

The murder of Nia Wilson- may she rest in the power and peace she was denied here- is unspeakable AND MUST NOT be met with silence.  She is not a hash tag; she was a black woman and she was murdered in cold blood by a white man. White people- including me, including you- must take into the marrow of our privileged bones the truth that ALL black people fear for their lives DAILY in America and have done so for GENERATIONS.  White people DO NOT have equivalence for this fear of violence. Given those givens, we must ask our (white)selves- how “decent” are we really?  Not in our intent, but in our actions?  In our lack of action? Peace and prayers and JUSTICE for Nia and the Wilson family xx Note: the comments for this post are closed. #blacklivesmatter #antiracist #noexcuse #sayhername #earntherighttosayhername

In this weather, the only relevant beauty discussion is which SPF to use (50, always 50).

load off my shoulders & more books

Today I finished my part of a big (ish) project at work, and I hadn’t realized how much this was weighing me down until I sent the email saying “I’m done”. Phew. And that on a Friday no less, talk about weekend feeling.

Last Friday I went to the bookstore that’s close to the office during a break, and of course I bought two books – these fellas:

I’ve read the Female Eunuch before, but that’s something like 15 years ago for my bachelor’s thesis (yes, I’m old). And these first pages have me very excited to read it again:

Internet book club?

And, as a final, small note that should please Lisa, Spotify suggested this song to me in this week’s Release Radar:

Welcome home

Disclaimer: I have probably posted this before.

I don’t particularly listen to or enjoy ska/reggae music (I mean, I also don’t hate it, it’s more like “meh”), but this song – which features my favorite artist Annika Norlin – keeps coming back to me. It’s probably not as likable if you don’t understand Swedish, but there you go (I recommend duolingo, where I’m currently working on my Italian. Also, they sing in dialect, so understanding Swedish will only help a bit).
