Week 8 / when I was so tired

Reading list
I’m reading again! However, this is what happens to my “currently reading” then:

Moderation? Nah.

Insta/Twitter/YouTube/Netflix

Christoph Waltz makes Jimmy guess German words. Granted, I got them (just do literal translations and it’s close enough), but Jimmy must be exaggerating his lack of skills? No?

And I finished the 6-episode first season of Derry Girls. Really enjoyed it (and not only because of the accents). The actors are very good, and of course it’s a look back at how the situation was at Ireland before the agreements. (signed /i met friend L when we were both taking a course in peace and conflict studies)

Purchase
I got a new computer. The old one served me well for 4,5 years, but as it still works, this was a tough one for me. Morally. Consume more? But it works? In the end, I convinced myself that I’ve worked really hard the last two years, and deserve to buy something nice for (part of) my bonus, as last year’s went straight into the mortgage payment. I’ve almost bought in to it. Almost.

  1. I say put all the responsibility on the companies and politicians where it belongs 😉

Only half joking, sure we have -some- personal responsibility as well, but at the end of the day, whether or not you buy a new computer every 5 years, it’s probably not going to make a difference in the world. Also, we need to think of our mental health, we can’t go around feeling guilty all the time, and hey, you’ve given it some thought. If that was the standard..we’d really be getting somewhere..
