This post was written in the past, where I might have had a glass or two (too many) of wine. But I want to talk about Weeping Willows. Not the tree – the band.
I know I’ve mentioned Danny Saucedo in this blog before, and not Magnus Carlson, and it annoys me. I literally ONLY know Danny because of the Little Jinder cover he did and that Louise saw him in an airplane, while Magnus’ voice gives me goosebumps and his band make great songs with amazing lyrics. This must be corrected!
Back in my youth, there was a show on Swedish state TV (yes, we had 2 channels when I grew up. deal with it) about three brothers whose jobs it was to take care of a skiing slope (seriously, idk.. Pistvakt, click the link if you want details). I’d share a clip just to give you an idea of my cultural background, but it’s just ridiculously Swedish and I won’t do that to you. You’re welcome.
HOWEVER. There is a point coming up, I swear. The theme song of said show! Was by a band called Weeping Willows (I mean.. is? they still exist and make music). This:
I mean it. Goosebumps!
And with lyrics like:
Why must I be this kind of guy
Who never dares to look straight into your eyes
The truth would make you cry
So I’ll leave it up to you
I’ll treat you worse and worse ’til you’re forced to go
[When you are asleep]
