July summary

Ok, let’s pretend it’s 3 weeks ago, and then read this post.

The books

Jenny Colgan The cafe by the sea
Akwaeke Emezi Freshwater

Two measly books! (And the first one I’ve read before, but Lisa recommended the reader of the audio version, so I thought I’d give it a go, and made it through.) Slump month.

The shows

Designated Survivor
Big Bang Theory
Queer Eye
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Quicksand (org. Störst av allt)

OK. For someone who likes to watch 1 show at the time, this seems like a mess, but it’s actually working out alright. Designated Survivor surely took an odd turn from season 1 to season 2, but I’m alright with it. It reminds me (a little bit!) of the West Wing now. The Big Bang Theory also picked up in the last season! I’ve actually laughed a few times now, which didn’t happen in the previous 2-3 seasons. Queer Eye is just nice to watch if you’ve had a crap day, or you know, read the news.
When I grew up we didn’t have the channels where Fresh Prince was on, but we were thrilled when we managed to catch an episode when visiting grand-mom. Now it’s on Netflix, so I want to see what I missed. And Quicksand is based on a book I really enjoyed. And the author’s dad highly recommended the adaptation. (Like, they didn’t ask him because he’s her dad, but he’s a famous author and criminilogist in Sweden, so it was a side-question during an interview.)

The movies

The Mask You Live in
Dark Phoenix

  1. Det är -nästan- roligt att a slump month för dig skulle vara ganska bra stats för mig ;D MIn läsning nuförtiden plååågsamt långsam. Men kanske tar sig nu när jag har Bookbeat + ingen HBO/Netflix/liknande. Speaking of. Började Jenny Colgans My Very 90s Romance, självklart lite besviken över avsaknaden av skottska men alltså hon är ju underbar.
