Ta daaaa:

That being said, I won’t quite pass my unofficial 10-20-30 one, because 30 are just VERY MANY countries to read books from (I have 13 at this point and doubt I’ll even reach 15). Try, try again?

Project 2017 – Update #10

I have three goals for this year, and will be making monthly updates on them. They are:

  • thinking of my health and start moving more. no numbers, explicit goals or deadlines, but simply that – move more, be kind to my body.
  • favorize women! more female authors and artists
  • continue learning stuff.

So, how has month four gone?

Health: Pass.

The Ladies: Pretty good! Keeping my percentage of female authors above 75% where it should be.

Learning: Well, I had to re-do an exam (it’s valid for 24 months) to keep one of my specialist titles, and that went fine. But that was also about it.

Project 2017 – Update #9

I have three goals for this year, and will be making monthly updates on them. They are:

  • thinking of my health and start moving more. no numbers, explicit goals or deadlines, but simply that – move more, be kind to my body.
  • favorize women! more female authors and artists
  • continue learning stuff.

So, how has month four gone?

Health: Better (but not good). I returned to the gym, but am not back to the routine there or with the walks. I’ll keep trying!

The Ladies: Oui! Going strong. I kind of hate that I wasted time on Simon Pegg’s book, it wasn’t worth bumping up the male percentage in my read-books excel file (yes, it’s a thing).

Learning: So apparently I passed the project management course! Good for me. I haven’t started the course I signed up for now though, it just feels much less interesting than when I chose it. Maybe the motivation will be back by the time the course on world languages starts?

Project 2017 – Update #8

I have three goals for this year, and will be making monthly updates on them. They are:

  • thinking of my health and start moving more. no numbers, explicit goals or deadlines, but simply that – move more, be kind to my body.
  • favorize women! more female authors and artists
  • continue learning stuff.

So, how has month four gone?

Health: Eh. No. I had good intentions (I usually do), but it didn’t happen.

The Ladies: Si! I’m back at 75% women, when it comes to books read, so now I’ve just gotta keep it up. Don’t order the Mistborn Trilogy. Just don’t.

Learning: Well, I did hand everything in (on time) for the project management course. It remains to be see if I’ll pass. Oh, and I signed up for 2 courses this fall…

Project 2017 – Update #7

I have three goals for this year, and will be making monthly updates on them. They are:

  • thinking of my health and start moving more. no numbers, explicit goals or deadlines, but simply that – move more, be kind to my body.
  • favorize women! more female authors and artists
  • continue learning stuff.

So, how has month four gone?

Health: I lost the gym mojo again 😦
Then my mom and brother came to visit, and we walked so much. Now I will do my best to keep up the 10k steps at least 5 days a week.

The Ladies: I’m back at reading only women again, to get the percentage back to 75% for the books. I have to say, it’s a really good eye-opener when buying books. I’ll see something that sounds interesting and then put it back with a sad face cause it was written by a man. And please don’t misinterpret that: I don’t in any way think men write more interesting books, it’s just that most of the books on the shelf in the bookstore I pass most often are by men. That’s a choice by the bookstore, and they’re losing my business for sure.

Learning: Going semi-strong on that course I’m taking at Stockholm University. It’s an odd feeling when you hand something in thinking “oh boy, that is SHIT. there is now way they’ll let it pass”, and you get the feedback “Great!”. I guess the other participants suck? 😛

Project 2017 – Update #6 (Q2/H1)

What? We’re almost half-way through July you say? Oh well…*

Health: Look. I had vacation, in my home land. And my mom is of the kind that encourages people to keep eating until there’s nothing left. Soooo…. (I didn’t eat any of my favorite snacks though! So gold star for that. Oh, my dear ostkrokar….)

The Ladies: To be honest – not great. I read too much by men this month, it’s screwing up my percentages (72% women atm)… I will fix it!!

Learning: Meh.

*When I was little, it amazed me when adults went “time goes so fast”. I was all “wtf? no it doesn’t!!!”, with the arrogance of a child. NOW THOUGH. God. Yeah, I’m one of the oldies. Where’s the time going?? Half the year is already over!

Project 2017 – Update #5

I have three goals for this year, and will be making monthly updates on them. They are:

  • thinking of my health and start moving more. no numbers, explicit goals or deadlines, but simply that – move more, be kind to my body.
  • favorize women! more female authors and artists
  • continue learning stuff.

So, how has month five gone?

Health: Better! Still irregularly going to the gym, but at least I’m going.

The Ladies: Yessir! 80% of the books I’ve read were written by women, and Spotify continues to deliver.

Learning: I’ve picked up the uke again, and I’m going to do a summer course at Stockholm University. Let’s see if I actually finish it!
