4 things in my online cart

The Endless Blog Challenge.

4 things in my online cart. I’m assuming that at any point in time, most of us have things lying about in online carts. Doesn’t have to be the same cart, a variation of carts will do!

But of course. The only one where I have that many items pending is by our friends at Paula’s Choice:

What can I say – I’m like “wantwantwant” until I see the total price, then I quickly close the tab. Maybe at some point!

9. If you had to stick to only one skincare brand, what would it be?
Well, at this point I’d have to say Paula’s Choice. They have the full range of products (including day cream with SPF of 30 and above) and I’m happy with everything I’ve tried.
10. Best spot treatment?
Er, not sure? PC’s 2% BHA exfoliant really helps me since it dries them out, and they are barely visible in a day or two.
11. Favorite step of your skincare routine?
I enjoy the exfoliation, mainly since it’s the one thing I actually feel the effect of.
12. What’s on your skincare wishlist?
I’d like to try this one, but it’s sold out now. If anyone’s got a recommendation of Vitamin C products, I’m all ears!

Skincare Tag pt 1.

The Endless Blog Challenge.

I’m off to Germany for the weekend to visit little L and her parents (the kid’s almost a year, that’s crazy!). Obviously had to get the little one a present for her first birthday, and as always I refuse to get something gendered. BRIO blocks ftw?

I leave you with this:

Skincare tag pt 1. This is an old tag created by makeupTIA. In total, it’s 12 questions, but I’m splitting it up into 3 parts, simply because I’m a big believer in the short post. These are the first 4 questions:

  1. What is your skin type? Combination – oily t-zone and rest normal (ish? how do you know?)
  2. How do you store your skincare?  Like this:
  3. Favorite ingredient? Eh. What? I’m not that into skincare.
  4. Most indulgent product? The whole bunch from Paula’s Choice I guess… cause you know, I’m sure it’d still be perfectly acceptable with less expensive products.

Endless Blog Challenge!

Empties. On a theme or completely random!

Since there was a head’s up about this, I managed to gather 3 empties for this post. “Tre tomma”. Starting off with my all time favorite hand cream; Lush’s Handy Gurugu. Friend L introduced me to this one while in Iceland, so as a plus point, the smell reminds me of that! It’s the only thing that makes sure my hands survive the soap they use at work:

Moving on, I’ve emptied the first products I bought for skincare. Both from Paula’s Choice (since I’m lazy, I bought everything from the same place), it’s a cleanser and day cream for combination/oily skin. I’m honestly very invested in this cleanser, but since I – at the same time – think it’s ridiculous to pay € 26 for a cleanser, I’m now trying cheaper alternatives (this and this). I’m not convinced by either of them 😦

The day cream was a bit “meh” though. While the SPF definitely worked, and the texture was SPF-cream-like (which I can live with), it left like… I don’t have the words to describe it. You know like when you shower and old skin comes off around your neck? A bit like that, when I touched my face like the monkey I am. So won’t buy that one again, and am currently trying this one instead. (Promising so far! Just note that it says “fluid” not “cream”.)

Skincare & Sunburns

The trains are (exceptionally) crap this week, so I was allowed to work from home Tuesday-Wednesday. You’d have thought I might have had time to write some posts then, but I guess not. Can we discuss how awesome it was not having to commute though? And not being surrounded by chattering people all day?

Anyway. About two months ago, I suddenly decided to start with skincare. Yep, you read it right, I’m 35 and haven’t done that before. Obviously, I’ve washed my face (with soap!!) and even used day cream every now and then, but that’s been it. Then I started reading Kakan Hermansson‘s preaching on skincare, and thought “maybe I should give it a try?”. So the thing she keeps talking about it is a 2% bha from Paula’s choice. Honestly – I still don’t really know what it is (yeah, yeah, it exfoliates), but I can be easily persuaded.

Said and done, I ordered the whole shebang from Paula’s choice (…I’m also lazy, have I mentioned this before?) – cleanser, 2% bha, day cream and night cream:

And now, 2 months later… I have to say it’s quite nice. My skin is definitely a lot softer, and I have less blackheads and zits. In addition to this, the joy of having a day cream with SPF. Why has no one told me this before? As the pale northerner I am, this has already saved me a couple of times (like when I went biking with my (red-headed) brother, and you couldn’t really tell on me, but he was lobster-red). I swear I will never use a day cream without it. Think I exaggerate? Just listen to this podcast episode. Really, do it.
